Luka Doncic had a magical night against his former side, as the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Mavericks at the Crypto.com Arena. Both Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks have been in the news since Luka was traded midseason to the Los Angeles Lakers, a move that hasn’t settled well with the fans.

Anthony Davis, former Lakers player and part of the swoop, was present during the game but couldn’t play because of his injury. He also received a warm tribute from the Lakers fans during the first timeout.

Mark Cuban, the Mavericks owner, was present as well in the crowd along with his family for the much-anticipated game of the season. Luka Donic delivered an amazing triple-double performance in the 107-99 victory against his former side and had the Crypto.com arena in awe.

Nico Harrison, Dallas Mavericks GM, has faced a lot of criticism since the Doncic-Davis swap. The Lakers fans went a bit cheeky during the game, chanting “Thank you Nico”, highlighting how grateful the Lakers fans are.

Doncic shined against his former side, scoring a triple-double

Doncic’s amazing night consisted of 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists. However, after the game, the player highlighted how emotional the night has been for him, saying, “I don't know how to explain it, I think in the first quarter, second quarter, I didn't know what was happening. It was just different, I can't even explain how I felt.”

Doncic also made NBA history during the match, becoming the first player to record a triple-double with five steals or blocks in his first game against his former side. However, it wasn’t all bright and shiny for the new Lakers player, struggling to shoot. He only managed to shoot 6-for-17 from the field and explained his struggles after the match, “I don't know how to explain it, I think in the first quarter, second quarter, I didn't know what was happening. It was just different, I can't even explain how I felt.”
