At just 13, Rayan Khurram is more than a young entrepreneur—he is a powerful voice of resistance, leading a global push for ethical consumerism in solidarity with Palestine.
Speaking exclusively to AMT, the London-based teen shared how his alternative soft drink stands for faith, ethical consumerism, and giving back.
"In October 2023, when the war in Gaza began, I was deeply moved and came up with the idea of creating an alternative to the boycotted colas" Khurram said. "One that not only gives people a better choice but also helps support the people of Gaza."
Unlike its corporate competitors, Labbaik Cola operates with a clear mission: 10% of its profits go directly to humanitarian aid in Palestine.
The brand has partnered with organizations such as Islamic Relief and Humans to Be, ensuring that proceeds are used for critical aid, including food distribution, medical supplies and orphan sponsorships in Gaza.
"Every purchase directly contributes to rebuilding lives," Khuram explained. "It’s not just about selling a drink; it’s about making sure that every sip supports a cause that truly matters."
Since its launch, Labbaik Cola has helped fund food aid, medical care, and education in Palestine, providing tangible relief in an ongoing humanitarian crisis.
From Idea to Market: The Challenges of Building an Ethical Brand
"With Allah’s will and the unwavering support of my family, we continue to grow stronger," Khurram said. "Wherever we go, people show their support, and that’s what fuels us to keep pushing forward."
Despite the challenges, Labbaik Cola is gaining traction, expanding to more UK stores and restaurants. Talks are already underway to distribute internationally, with potential partners in South Africa, the U.S., Ireland, Bosnia, Morocco and Pakistan.
Social Media and the Power of Community
Much of Labbaik Cola’s rapid success can be attributed to its strategic use of social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok, where the brand has built a loyal and engaged following.
Influencers, vloggers and activists have rallied behind Khurram’s vision, amplifying Labbaik Cola’s message to audiences worldwide.
"Social media has given us a platform to connect with people who believe in what we stand for," Khurram stated. "It feels like a Labbaik Cola family, because at the heart of it, our goal is to help displaced families in Gaza."
Balancing business, education and personal life is no small task for a teenager, but Khurram remains committed. He plans his days, ensuring that schoolwork is completed before dedicating time to his business.
Looking ahead, he envisions Labbaik Cola expanding worldwide, making it available in both small and large markets. He remains optimistic about the challenges ahead, firmly believing that hard work, faith and community support will turn his dream into reality.
Labbaik Cola has helped sponsor orphans in Gaza, provided hot meals to displaced families, and worked to supply basic necessities through our charity partners, Alhamdulillah," Khurram said. "My dream is to help more people, and I will always explore new ways to support those in need."
