Hassan Minaj 



He stands as one of the most prominent Muslim stand-up comedians. Chris Rock sparked Minhaj’s comedic aspirations, leading him to win a competition in 2008, subsequently opening for Katt Williams, Pablo Francisco, and Gabriel Iglesias. Minhaj became a part of The Daily Show in 2014, starting with Jon Stewart and later continuing with Trevor Noah.

Shazia Mirza 



A celebrated British stand-up comedian and writer, she began her professional journey as a secondary school science teacher. It was during her time in the classroom that she recognized her knack for comedy, finding joy in making her students laugh. 


This revelation prompted her to transition into stand-up comedy full-time. With a mission to combat Islamophobia through humor, she has earned acclaim for her show 'Coconut,' which garnered a nomination for 'Best Stand-Up Tour at Channel 4's National Comedy Awards. 


Back in 2003, her comedic talent shone brightly when one of her acts was listed among the 50 funniest acts in British comedy. Since 2004, she's been a steady columnist for The Guardian, consistently delivering engaging content. Her exceptional writing prowess earned her the prestigious Columnist of the Year award in 2008. 


Hashu Mohammed 



A versatile talent hailing from Birmingham, his presence at Smash Bengali on YouTube or on BBC Asian Network is unmistakable. He made waves in 2021 as a finalist on Channel 4's The Circle. 


Through his online platforms, Mohammed skillfully navigates and pokes fun at the common stereotypes surrounding British Bengalis, injecting humor into everyday life. He also documented his first solo trip to Bangladesh, sharing snippets of his adventurous journey with his audience. 


Maysoon Zayid 



Zayid is a Palestinian stand-up comedian who defies limitations imposed by cerebral palsy. She proudly embraces her identity as a Palestinian, Muslim woman living with disabilities in New Jersey. In 2003, she co-founded the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival alongside comedian Dean Obeidallah. 


This annual event in New York City highlights the talents of Arab-American comedians, actors, playwrights, and filmmakers. Zayid also appeared in the 2013 documentary "The Muslims Are Coming!", which follows a group of Muslim American stand-up comedians on a tour across the United States to challenge Islamophobia. The documentary features notable figures like Jon Stewart, David Cross, Janeane Garofalo and Rachel Maddow. 


Maziyar Jobrani 



Better known as Maz Jobrani, his humor works around his quick wit and sharp humor. Originally from Iran, he made California his home at the tender age of six. In addition to his notable television appearances, Jobrani is a captivating speaker who has delivered several impactful TED Talks. 


His comedy delves into the complexities of race and challenges the stereotypes often imposed on Middle Easterners in America. With a blend of insight and humor, Maz sheds light on the misconceptions surrounding his community, weaving in poignant anecdotes from his own family's experiences. 


Sadia Azmat 



Sadia Azmat isn't your ordinary comedian; she's a comedic dynamo challenging conventions. Armed with her sharp wit and candid observations, Azmat weaves a tapestry of laughter that encourages reflection and fosters empathy. 


Raised in London, her standout performance, "I Am Not Malala," has garnered widespread acclaim. In June 2015,  Azmat ventured into filmmaking with "Things I Have Been Asked As a British Muslim," a short film featured in the British Muslim Comedy series. Her comedic material often draws from her experiences in a call center, classic Asian mom jokes and the amusing misconception that she is Malala. 


The Official Azz 


A 28-year-old comedian residing in London,  he is celebrated for his massive following of over two million on TikTok and around 40,000 on Instagram. Azz’s comedic style is deeply rooted in social media trends, frequently showcasing his talent through mime and dance routines set to the latest R&B and hip-hop tracks from artists like Justin Timberlake and Lil Yachty. 


Fans often draw comparisons to mainstream comedy legends, with one fan humorously commenting that he's like the offspring of Mr. Bean and Jim Carrey, but with an Arab twist.
